The whole thing feels very awkward.
Layman really seems to want to be funny.
Motion lines. They’re abusing motion lines.
The action smears itself across the page like a thick mucus.
In theory, it should be a lot of fun.
Zub and Fawkes have real potential in a series focusing on Arcade and Murderworld.
Ultimately Captain Marvel #17 feels like unnecessary filler. It isn’t interesting enough to stand on its own as fluff, and it’s too self-contained to be a bridge between arcs.
DC editorial should have known better than to publish Gotham City Monsters #5.
