Christopher Priest continues to take the League on an ensemble character study while tearing them apart in the process. Reeling from their confrontation with new villain (The Fan) and his access to their files and technology, the League must gather their bearings if they want to continue as a team.

The smaller down-to-earth moments are what truly drives this series forward. Giving each character their own moments and voices are the making of a great Justice League run. Even Barry speaking directly to the reader in the opening scene as a way to catch new readers up to speed was excellent display of what comics can accomplish.

While not being the most powerful villain in Justice League history, The Fan easily tears the team apart in a fashion akin to the Tower of Babel storyline. Priest’s signature pacing and story structure is always refreshing to read. From the Deathstroke ongoing to now the main Justice League title, Priest continues to show his effortless use of an ensemble cast now on a much larger scale.

Marco Santucci takes dual roles of pencils and inks making each member of the Justice League his own. Where another artist could absolutely cut corners and slack off, Santucci makes use of every space with his pencils. From the desert in Niger to the Justice League watchtower in space, it's clear how much effort Santucci put not only into characters but also the backgrounds of each respective scene.

Just as Santucci manages to bring the reader from one diverse location to another, Alex Sollazzo is right there along side highlighting everything with stunning colors. The scenes with The Flash in space easily stand out with Santucci’s attention to detail and Sollazzo’s beautiful work on Space bringing everything together beautifully.

Although not accomplishing much plot wise in the issue, Priest and company still continue to drive an interesting story forward filled with moments of levity and high stakes. Batman, still absolutely stunned over everything that had happened decides to appoint Cyborg as the new leader of the Justice League taking himself off of that role. With Justice League No Surrender around the corner, this run will unfortunately have a short lifespan but it is not one to be missed. With months until Synder’s Justice League event starts, Priest still has plenty of time to stretch his legs and deliver an amazing run.

One of my earliest comic memories was trying to draw a Ben Riley Spider-Man right around kindergarten. I always wanted the intro of the 1960’s Batman to just be the show, old reruns of Super Friends alleviated this want until Batman The Animated Series came into my life. Between Batman, X-Men and the Spider-Man cartoons I was hooked like many other children my age.

As a kid the easiest comics to get ahold of were all the terrible Young Blood type comics. I was not a fan of the over muscled strapped and pouched heroes of the 90’s and I lost interest for a few years, at least in the source material. Comics always seemed so daunting when I was younger.

Books like Batman Hush, Identity Crisis and Ultimate Spider-Man brought me right back into the medium during freshman/sophomore year(s).

Grant Morrison and Neil Gaiman are two hands down favorite writers of mine. The Sandman is one of my all time favorite comics as well as The Multiversity, The Invisibles and Green Lantern. I love high concept and cosmic based stories and I'm obsessed with reading more comics.
