DoomPatrol #7 review
Doom patrol #7 by Gerard Way, Michael Allred and Laura Allred
Chief is Back
Doom Patrol is back, and despite its short hiatus it's as good as ever, and as a special plus we get Mike Allred on art this issue. Allred was meant to draw a Doom Patrol book(not to discredit Nick Derington though, he is amazing as well), his style just fits with these characters and their zany adventures and you can really tell that this issue.

Now let's talk about the issue some, because its really good as we have come to expect from Gerard Ways writing. The main jist of the story is that Chief finds out the Doom Patrol again and wants to lead them as he had done before. Even with the troubled past they had with Chief they decide to allow this for a trial run to see if Chief is actually gonna do any good or just be trouble like he was before, and this is where the fun begins.
Okay without trying to be too confusing let me try to explain this. Okay Chief gives the team some upgrades and matching costumes that are classic Doom Patrol costumes and leads the team to the Scantoverse, home of the Scants. Scants are creatures from another dimension that place bad ideas in your head, when your brain accepts these ideas a substance called Idyat secretes from your ears and then the scants take that back to their dimension were they refine it. This leads the team on awacky adventure where they face off against Dan Scram and his Gravity pirates, yes this book is ridiculous and I love ever panel of it. that's as far into detail as I'm gonna go, this issue reads like an old school crazy Doom Patrol comic and it tends to be dialogue heavy at times, but that's literally the only way you would be able to understand this issue at all.
if you are not reading this series, do your self a favor and catch up. Because of delays it's easy to catch up on, the first 6 issues are collected into a trade then all you have to do is get this single issue after that. It's a fun wacky comic book that gives me a smile the whole way through. Doom Patrol #7 gets an easy A+
