Sonic the Hedgehog #2 review

Sonic the Hedgehog #2 is by Ian Flyn with art by Adam Bryce Thomas

So far IDW has had a nice start to their new Sonic the hedgehog run, both issues so far have been pleasantly good fun reads. Issue 1 introduces Tails so with this issue we get introduced to Amy Rose. Spotlighting each character in individual issues with Sonic is a good idea in letting them get properly introduced without the books feeling rushed and is a good way to get readers who don’t read a lot of Sonic get introduced to the characters.

Sonic is as much fun, if not more, as the first issue was, Amy is a fun addition always and Ian Flyn really nails her in this comic. The action is very plentiful and very fast paced, that’s been a nice surprise with boo issues so far is that they have planets of really good action scenes that play to Sonic and his camrades strengths. The best thing about this book again is the art and coloring, it pops on the page nicely and is so easy on the eyes.

Plot wise this issue continues on with Sonic wanting to find out why Eggmans forces are being so organized in their attacks and he wants to know who is controlling them. Sonic is going town to town saving people from these attacks which is where he runs into Amy. A lot of the issue is Sonic and Amy fighting robots while Amy tries to convince Sonic to rejoin the Resistance. After turning her down he decides to head south on her word that’s Knuckles is down that way and may need Sonics help.

As said before this series has been a blast so far and so fun to read. Once again no complaints about this book so far, the writing and art both great and I personally can’t wait till next issue where we get to see Knuckles

Sonic the Hedgehog #2 gets an

A+
